Founded in 2025, the Taiwan Satoyama Sustainability Innovation Alliance is dedicated to enhancing the professional knowledge and skills of practitioners in the satoyama and caspian sea areas, promoting the preservation and utilization of satoyama landscapes and caspian sea areas, mainstreaming community resilience and sustainability values, facilitating domestic and international exchanges, supporting the sustainable development of agriculture, fishing, and mountain villages in Taiwan, and gradually realizing the vision of "Satoyama Sustainability, Coexistence of All Things, and Intergenerational Inheritance".

About the Association
Community forestry and the Satoyama Initiative have become important ways of thinking and practice that connect biodiversity conservation, local revitalization and community sustainable development. In order to integrate the power of policy innovation and local practice, the "Taiwan Alliance of Satoyama Innovation for Sustainability (TASIS)" was jointly launched by Professor Li Guangzhong of National Dong Hwa University, Professor Chen Meihui of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Teacher Huang Xinxun of Dharma Drum College of Liberal Arts, Group Leader Xue Meili of the Institute of Biodiversity Research, Ministry of Agriculture, and community organization leaders from all over the country who have long been engaged in community forestry, Satoyama Initiative, community building, environmental education, rural regeneration and local revitalization.

This association is a non-profit social organization established in accordance with the law. Its purpose is to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of practitioners engaged in the field of rural landscape and seascape, to implement the preservation and utilization of rural landscape and seascape, to manage and connect resilient rural communities, to mainstream the sustainable value of rural landscape and seascape, and to promote domestic and international exchanges and promote the sustainable development of agriculture, fishing and mountain villages in Taiwan.
