[A New Path for Collaborative Learning in Satoyama between Taiwan and Japan] A Field Trip to Shibumizu Community by Faculty and Students from Ryukoku University, Japan
In response to the global biodiversity goal of "30x30," the Taiwan Satoyama Sustainability Innovation Alliance, the Biodiversity Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Forestry and Nature Conservation Administration jointly organized the "2026 Taiwan Central Region Satoyama Initiative Partnership Network Practitioners Exchange Workshop (TPSI-W)."
This video captures highlights from the first day of the exchange program. We accompanied experts from Ryukoku University in Japan and our domestic partners to explore practical applications in Nantou and witness the fruitful results of the "Community Forestry Project" undertaken by the Nantou Branch of the Forestry Conservation Agency.
🌿【Satoyama Conference - Thank You for Your Participation】Highlights of the First Second Member Conference
🌿Thank you to our Satoyama partners for taking the time to attend the Second General Meeting of the First Session of the "Taiwan Satoyama Sustainable Innovation Alliance" today.
Today, we gathered in Liugui to witness the satoyama (satoyama) practices from the Eighteen Arhats Mountain Nature Reserve to the Dodo Bird Wetland, and my heart is filled with emotion. Your participation has strengthened this collective effort for the conservation and coexistence of satoyama and marine life across Taiwan.
Special thanks to Ms. Yang Rui-fen, Director of the Pingtung Branch of the Forestry Conservation Agency, Ms. Zhu Rui-min, Deputy Director of the Tainan Branch of the Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation Agency, and Mr. Yao Zhi-wang, Director of the Agriculture Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government, for their guidance, which greatly encouraged and inspired our alliance partners.
Although the conference has come to a successful close, the action to protect Taiwan's forests, mountains, and species is just beginning. We look forward to meeting you again soon and walking side by side on the path of realizing the Satoyama Vision.
Thank you again for your support and dedication. Wishing you peace and happiness!

Infused with mountain breezes and earthy scents: The land aesthetics of the Mangzijiao Cultural Sharing Space
After Typhoon Morakot, the residents of Baolai did not wait, but worked hard to transform the old warehouse into a "cultural sharing space". The building itself is an art, using river stones, driftwood and rice husks and traditional construction methods to embody the wisdom of coexisting with the land. It is also the first unit in Taiwan to win the National Sustainable Development Award for "craft community" and is a model of the connection between people and the land.
In Mangzaijiao, every piece of art is a testament to the warmth conveyed by the hands of women and youth in the community.
◇ Baolai Pottery - Infused with the fragrance of the earth, fired into everyday utensils.
♤Nichizo-zome - Collecting local plants to create the most natural colors of the mountains and forests.
♧Earthen Kiln Fat - Traditional earthen kiln wood firing, baking to produce a firm and full-bodied wheat aroma.
CEO Wanling said, "If you can't come right now, we'll send you the flavors of the mountains; if you do come, please sit down and listen to the joys and sorrows of this place."

【Wutai ESG Observatory】More Than Just Tourism | A Sustainable New Model for Deepening the Economy of Satoyamane!
This is more than just a trip; it's a romantic covenant with the land. Following in the footsteps of Leya Travel Agency and Professor Chen Mei-hui of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, we venture into the misty mountains of Wutai. In the future, you will have the opportunity to personally collect linden mushrooms imbued with the scent of the forest and visit a tribal seed bank to experience the transmission of life. This is a healing journey that cleanses the mind and body, and a heartwarming act that transforms corporate ESG travel budgets into a "social contribution." Let us bring back not only memories, but also a profound connection with the indigenous communities!
